Plainly, and before anything else: Pompeii Italy Tours may earn a commission when you book through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you.

What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way — the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not the Archaeological Park of Pompeii. The park is run by Italy's Ministry of Culture, which sets admission, publishes the rules and sells tickets through its own official seller, and this site has no part in that transaction. Where we quote a ticket price it is the park's published figure, dated, and not something we sell.

We are not a tour operator and we are not a ticketing authority. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides, or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. The order the tours appear in comes from their own published ratings and review volumes, and the badges are arithmetic: the best seller is the one with the most reviews, the best value is the cheapest fare on the site, and top rated means a rating of 4.9 or better.

Several listings here are the same operator selling one product on both platforms, at different prices. Both listings appear, because both are separately bookable. Only one of a pair takes a featured slot, and where the two differ in price we feature the cheaper one, so the tours at the top of the homepage are different days rather than the same day repeated.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were read from their own listings on 9 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Everything here is quoted in US dollars, which is what both platforms quoted; admission to the park is charged in euros.

Where a listing says nothing about whether admission is inside the fare, we say nothing either, in either direction. Where a listing includes an entrance ticket only on some of its booking options, and excludes the dearer grade by name, its card makes no claim about admission at all for that reason.

One thing we deliberately do not publish: an annual visitor total for Pompeii. No figure could be traced to the park or to the ministry while this site was being built, and a number repeated from a travel listing is not a source.
